A "Hero", Ted Kennedy Was Not

United States Senator Edward Kennedy, boss of the Kennedy Crime Family died at his family compound in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts on Tuesday August 25 2009. Some of his greatest accomplishments include advocating for the poor and homeless while living a privledged life protected behind well-guarded gated communities so he didn't have to be anywhere near them, living lawlessly while creating laws for others to obey, proclaiming to be a devout Catholic while practicing adultery, drinking and driving with no regard for human life, fleeing the scene of a felony drunk driving accident which caused the death of a young women named Mary Jo Kopechne, continuing to abuse alcohol without apology, contributing alcohol to his nephew William KennedY-Smith who in-turn raped a girl, committing perjury on the witness stand pertaining to said crime of rape, and playing an instrumental role in helping to destroy America's borders, language and culture.
And here I sit, a habitual non-violent drug offender, serving the rest of my natural life in federal prison because of a "three strikes Law" that crime boss Kennedy supported.
I hear all of these people on the television and radio refer to Edward Kennedy as an American Hero. Ted Kennedy was no hero, he was a coward. Heroes don't leave women to drown because they are afraid of what it may do to their political career, cowards do. Heroes don't wait until the authority's find the dead womens body to report the incident to the police, cowards do. And heroes that claim to represent the "People" don't wait a week to give a public statement about the incident then read from a sheet of paper that was written by a public relations consultant, cowards do.
Do you know what would have made Sen. Kennedy a true Hero? If he would have come forward and admitted his mistake, accepted responsibility for his criminal action in a court of law, served time for his crime, then once he got released from prison he could have became an advocate against drunk driving, a crime that kills thousands of people every year.
And with all of the star power that the Kennedy name carries, there should be no doubt in anyones mind that Ted Kennedy could have saved lives. But he didn't. Instead he not only lied to the world about what happened on Chappaquiddick Island, he continued to abuse alchol and live above the law, driving home drunk from the bars whenever he pleased.
To all of you senators, congressman, and friends and supporters of Ted Kennedy that know in your hearts that Ted was guilty of a crime punishable by prison but instead chose to focus on all other "good things" that he did after the fact, I want you to think about this. There are thousands of non-violent drug offenders that never killed anyone that are serving Life without parole and if given a chance, I'll bet many of them could actually save lives rather than take a life, such as Sen. Edward Kennedy did. I know I for one would devote much of my life working with drug addicts like myself and advocate for sentence and prison reform that included MANDATORY PRISON TIME for all first-time drug offernders and treatment while incarcerated. And I know a lot of other people in prison who feel the same.
If God truly does exist, such as Sen. kenndy claimed to believe, and there is a Heaven and Hell, there is no doubt in my mind where he's at. He's sitting right beside Adolph Hitler and Michael Jackson, wishing that they could all hop back into his mother's 1967 Olds and drive right off the Drake Bridge on Chappaquiddick Island so they can get some relief. God doesn't like drunken adulterers who kill people any more than he likes mass murderers and pedophiles.
